General

  • +

How do the individual Safety Lancets differ from one another?

Each lancet has its own specific features, such as the needle/blade size and the insertion depth. Therefore, there is a suitable product available for any patient and blood collection situation.

  • +

What is the difference between the Safety Lancet and the Incision Lancet?

The main difference between the two lancets is that the needle insertion and the blade on the Safety Lancet are vertical and the incision on the Incision Lancet is semicircular.
While the Safety Lancet is mainly used for children, adolescents and adults, the area of application of the Incision Lancet concerns newborn and premature babies.

  • +

Why should an incision lancet be used on newborn and premature babies?

Due to the semicircular incision of the Safety-Heel® Lancet, haematoma formation is counteracted and, when used appropriately, potential damage to the heel bone is ruled out due to the low insertion depth.

  • +

Which sites on the body do we recommend for a puncture?

Depending on the lancet, several puncture sites are possible, such as the heel, fingertip and ear lobe.

  • +

Can the Safety Lancet be used more than once?

No, for hygienic reasons the safety mechanism of the Safety Lancet prevents multiple use.

  • +

Are Safety and Incision Lancets sterile?

Yes, the blades and needles are sterile for both types.

  • +

    Are the lancets latex-free?

Yes, the Safety Lancets and Incision Lancets are free from latex.
