Are you looking for an epidural catheter with excellent material properties? We can offer you good tissue tolerance, high bending stability and a combination of softness, stability and rigidity which makes it easier to insert the catheter. It can also be used for longer-term use in continuous pain therapy.
Which openings are possible for epidural catheters?
Epidural catheters can be closed in the distal direction with (a maximum of three) lateral openings, or they can be open in the distal direction. Catheters with lateral openings ensure an optimal distribution of the anaesthetic as the openings are arranged evenly at 120° around the distal end, allowing the anaesthetic to be distributed in various directions.
Which properties characterise a high-quality epidural catheter?
A high-quality epidural catheter has excellent material properties and, as a result, good tissue tolerance, thereby enabling use over an extended period of time. The high buckling stability of the catheter is particularly significant as it prevents a possible interruption in the application of the medication in an unfavourable position. Optimal distribution of the anaesthetic is also supported by three lateral openings. A catheter length of 1000 mm enables use in larger patients.
