1. Connect the Safety-Needle to the S-Monovette® immediately before blood collection and secure by slightly twisting clockwise.

With the S-Monovette® you can choose between the aspiration and the vacuum principle

The S-Monovette® blood collection system allows you to choose freely between collection techniques. You can collect blood using the aspiration or vacuum principles, or you can combine the advantages of both. When taking multiple blood samples, the puncture and the first sample can be collected with the pre-assembled needle using the aspiration principle. The highly transparent screw cap provides visual control of the vein puncture. All subsequent S-Monovettes can then, if the vein's condition allows, be filled using the vacuum technique. The needle remains in the vein while S-Monovettes are changed, allowing leak-free multiple sampling.

Special applications

The S-Monovette® can be combined with the Multi-Adapter for collecting blood from Luer fittings. For blood collection with a blood collection set, we offer our Multifly® needle with pre-assembled adapter, which fits directly to the S-Monovette®.

1. Immediately before blood collection, withdraw the plunger of the S-Monovette® until it firmly locks into the base of the S-Monovette®. Break off the plunger.

2. Once blood starts to flow, loosen the tourniquet and withdraw the plunger slowly. For multiple sampling, attach additional S-Monovettes to the Safety-Needle in situ and collect blood as described above.

2. Puncture the vein with the Safety-Needle or use the aspiration method to fill the first tube and then switch to the vacuum method for subsequent tubes, using the same needle in situ.

3. When blood collection is complete, detach the final S-Monovette® and remove the Safety-Needle from the vein. Place the needle protector on a stable, flat surface and press downward to lock in the needle with a noticeable and audible 'click'. Lock the piston into the S-Monovette® base and break off the plunger.

3. Connect the evacuated S-Monovette® to the Safety-Needle in situ and secure by slightly twisting clockwise. When blood collection is complete, detach the final S-Monovette® and remove the Safety-Needle from the vein. Place the needle protector on a stable, flat surface and press downward to lock in the needle with a noticeable and audible 'click'.
