Neonatal-Needle

The Neonatal-Needle has been specially designed for the blood collection requirements of neonates and premature babies. With its ridged grip, the Neonatal Needle provides secure needle control and can be turned by 360° which is especially beneficial in case of fragile vein conditions.

Without any residual blood in the Luer adapter of a standard needle, blood loss is reduced to a minimum, and the exposed outlet enables ample blood flow into prepared micro tubes using the gravity flow principle. Also, the violation of blood cells likely to be caused when a standard needle is broken off is excluded.

In addition, the Neonatal-Needle is ideally suited for use in veterinary medicine.

We have deliberately selected needle sizes of 21G, 23G and 25G to account for the high blood viscosity of premature babies on the one hand and to minimise tissue damage caused by puncturing.
